"Add a top layer of decorative gravel or pebbles to your potted plants," she says. However, don't just pick up any random bag of pebbles. Choose stones that complement your home's exterior and the container of your plants. Think natural river pebbles, gray slate chips, or white gravel. To achieve the best results, spread a thin layer across the soil's surface, leaving space around the stems. "This helps lock in moisture, deters weeds in larger containers, and instantly lifts the look of your entryway."
5. Tidy Your Deck
