Key Lime Margarita
Lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, and a graham cracker rim come together to re-create the nostalgic flavor of Key lime pie in an easy-to-make cocktail.
Ingredients
For the rim and garnish:
- 1 full sheet graham cracker
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 2 regular or Key lime slices
For the cocktails:
- 4 ounces Key lime juice
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 3 ounces silver or blanco tequila
- 2 cups ice
Rim the glasses:
- Place 1 graham cracker sheet in a small resealable bag. Crush with a rolling pin or bottom of a sturdy glass or measuring cup into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a small, flat dish; add 1 pinch kosher salt; and stir to combine.
- Run 1 lime slice over the rim of 2 old-fashioned or margarita glasses to moisten. Invert the glasses into the crumb mixture, turning them as needed, to coat the rims. Reserve the lime slice for garnish.
Make the cocktails:
- Pulse 4 ounces Key lime juice, 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, 3 ounces silver tequila, and 2 cups ice in a blender until the ice begins to break down. Blend on high speed into a thick and frosty consistency, 20 to 30 seconds more. Pour into the glasses and garnish each with a lime slice.
